OUTSIDE INSIGHT, 2011 – A Skyspace

For SEE! COLOUR! James Turrell designed Scandinavia’s first, the world’s northernmost Skyspace. Outside Insight, 2011 – A Skyspace: During the transition from twilight to full night, lighting elements, programmed to change in intensity and hue, illuminate the inside walls of the Skyspace, creating a changing perception of sky as space, form, object, and void. A similar happening occurs during sunrise.

Skyspace at night for individuals

During sunset a special light performance runs from 40 before until 60 minutes after sunset. This experience is bookable for SEK 100. The duration of the Skyspace evening will be shorter in March and September, longer again in June and December. The schedule shows Sunday evenings between August and January. Skyspace for groups

A unique experience that SEE! COLOUR! offers to groups, is the opportunity to book additional viewing times for the Skyspace exclusively. The Skyspace seats 25 persons at a time comfortably but can host groups up to 40 people, when people are comfortable on the floor and close to each other. Booking price per evening: 2000 SEK. Reservation is required. You can combine your experience with a meal in our restaurant or an overnight stay in our on-site hotel. Even sunrise bookings are possible.
